Snake: rainworm - Steam doesn't have a monthly subscription like BFG does, although it still has a Game Manager that you have to install to "manage" your Steam games.

Snake: But yeah, you should be able to just get the game and go when it comes out.

rainworm: Thanks, Snake! That's what I wanted to know. Don't like to be "forced" to buy somewhere.....

sunnyglow: I just bought a few games from Steam recently and it seems they have improved from a few years ago. I used to have trouble with the games from their site. Now - haven't had a problem. Downloads are smooth and no bugs or viruses

lilyr: If you buy from Steam do you have to keep the game on your computer forever or can you re-download like you can with BFG?

lilyr: Darn, tiger. I sent a "thank you" when I saw your reply to my question, but I don't see it now.

laflamme: It depends on the start price though. I bought the latest South Park RPG at -33% (EUR 27, full price EUR 40), but one big sale after they already had it at 50 off, so that's significant savings. Games like those on BFG are cheap even at 10 to 25% off.
